This past weekend, I got to see “the black lake”—Schwarzsee, Switzerland. The weather was glorious! Not a cloud in the sky, just warm enough to take my jacket off, and practically no one else around. What a peaceful Saturday afternoon! I did get a bit sunburned though—you’d think I would have learned my lesson at this point, but it seems that every spring I need to get good and burned a few times before I remember to put sunscreen on.
I’ve been stressed, even while being on break last week, because of tomorrow. There’s lots to be done, including an oral presentation. Oral presentations always scare me, even when they’re in English. But why am I so stressed about something so ultimately insignificant?
Psalm 121 is so encouraging. It always reminds me of how great my God is!
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil;
He will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
Your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forevermore.
